Thomas Azier

2013

No shoes too big for Thomas Azier to fill. From a small town in the Netherlands he moved to Berlin to dedicate himself to music. After excursions into professional songwriting for other artists he locked himself up in his flat to find his own voice and to orchestrate it. By doing so he treats the term home-producer with a first class upgrade and impressively implements what we have read so much about: Talent is the new producer. The outcome bonds analogue with digital, synthesizers and sound effects. With an audible love for the 1980s, Azier’s flawless voice spans grand arcs of melody, big emotions, never afraid of pathos and superstardom. As Woodkid’s protégé (their congeniality was established via a tweet) he has toured Europe along with the Frenchman, at the sold-out Olympia in Paris he recently joined The Shoes on stage for a Cure cover. So much about the benchmarks. Thomas Azier is unstoppable, we are considering the relocation of his show to the olympic stadium. #Pop #Epic
