If one were to shoot a documentary about Berlin’s electro scene, Patric catani would be the perfect narrator. Making himself a name carrying two Atari 500 computers to his gigs in Cologne, West Germany, he moved to Berlin in the early 90ies immersing in the excessive life the reshaping city had to offer. With a DAT Tape for Digital Hardcore Records in his pocket he played the Bass Terror night in the Eimer squad on Rosenthaler Straße 68, hooking up with Alec Empire’s forming DHR crew. With Gina D’Orio (Cobra Killer) he started the legendary project EC8OR supporting The Prodigy in Tokyo and releasing tracks on the Beastie Boys’ label Grand Royal. Since then Patric has not been scared of any collaboration or genre. He produced the Puppetmastaz, worked with Chilly Gonzales, Max Turner and Angie Reed, appeared solo and later under his alter ego Candie Hank. Only this year his latest album Blingsanity came out, a sophisticated piece of contemporary bass music which only Hudson Mohawk could keep up with. At Torstraßen Festival he will share the stage with his alter ego Ill Till and –wait a minute– there actually is a small documentary…
