20 years of Kompakt, 20 years of minimal – in Cologne this equals maximal celebrations. Celebrations with the help of Gregor Schwellenbach. For the big anniversary the Cologne-based composer and multi-instrumentalist has interpreted 20 Kompakt classics rerecorded them as chamber music. Working with outstanding instrumentalists such as flutist Dorothee Oberlinger or guitarist Christian Buck the result is a magnum opus of minimal music, a fascinating humanization of binary sounds and draws an impressive connection between the coordinates of Jürgen Paape, Steve Reich and Claude Debussy. On the occasion of Kompakt’s festivities, which also manifest in a pop-up store in Berlin, Gregor Schwellenbach will present the Cologne classics live on piano. A genuine Köln concert at the Parkettfoyer of good old Volksbühne.
