Tom Adams

2014

Tastenclub presents: Tom Adams.

>When Nils Frahm presented his new piano at 35°C in the courtyard of Michelberger Hotel he received a visitor on stage. Tom Adam, a Gus van Sant-ish curly head put his skateboard aside, sat down at the piano, played its keys tenderly and sang a beautiful song. Magic happened. Magic that lasted for about 3 minutes, melted around 300 hearts and sold a whole bag of CDs. «Who the hell is that guy?» was probably the most used phrase on that afternoon. We have got answers: Tom Adams lives and works in Cambridge, UK, he is academically trained in electronic composition and applies his skills impressively in different contexts. From experimental compositions over movie scores to these very melancholic laments his music is infused with fragile sentiments one can only pull off with the dreamy charms of a lonely teenage boy. At Torstraßenfestival Tom Adams will play his first official concert in Berlin, which without a doubt will last more than three minutes.
