For a first encounter with New York-based Teengirl Fantasy, we recommend a visit to the duo’s website. Via the certainly much sought-after URL www.teengirlfantasy.com Logan Takahashi and Nick Weis present their project as a virtual experience. While their tracks function as the sound design to interactive 3D-renderings, their videos are broadcasted onto paleo-futuristic tablet computers and a sports car can be driven down the autobahn of data. But the art school students’ cyber-savvy aesthetics aren’t all that makes tumblr hearts beat faster. Fact Magazine named «Cheaters» track of the year, they were on tour with Crystal Castles and invited to play the Animal Collective-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties festival. And there are more prominent associations: with Panda Bear, Laurel Halo, Kelela and Romanthony («One more time!») Teengirl Fantasy’s album Tracerlists a spectacular selection of guest vocalists. This year the duo will perform at Sonar Festival and Art Basel, and we’re happy to provide an equally suitable setting for their performance at Platoon Kunsthalle.
