Exberliner presents: Cavern of Anti-Matter.

For those who find the current musical environment painfully adulterated, Torstraßen Festival brings you an act that suffers from, if anything, being Too Pure. Longtime Berlin resident and former Th’ Faith Healers drummer Joe Dilworth implored Stereolab’s Tim Gane to join him in the City of Cranes after the break-up of the latter’s act — the most important rock band of the 1990’s, it might be added. Gane complied, joining his former drummer and, inevitably, forging a band with him. Joined by synth whiz Holger Zapf, Cavern covers a similar terrain to The Lab, with inspiration – and as The Quietus put it, “through systems music, free jazz, French chanson, motorik and avant electronica, offering a seemingly limitless storehouse of influences.” A Krautrock-loving band in a Krautrock-living land, they’ll be offering festival listeners a long ride on the endless Autobahn.
