Shameless/Limitless presents: Lief Hall.

The list of activities adopted by Berlin-via-Vancouver artist Lief Hall is long and varied. As a costume and stage designer, composer, choreographer and director, she takes on many disciplines, exhibiting, performing, combining and contrasting various forms of artistic expression. As a member of the now-defunct noise punk trio Mutators she was an integral part of the Canadian weird punk scene. As one half of the electronic duo MYTHS, she toured with Grimes throughout North America. Yet in Berlin, Hall has appeared most prominently as a solo artist: Her new EP Transform is a dark collage of synthesized sounds and harsh electro beats with Hall’s voice layered above, a hypnotizing, alienated duet with her self. Hall is multimedia – her elliptical soundscapes are complemented with no less captivating visuals: digital Rorschach tests and colors of the unconsciousness form the backdrop to Hall’s gloomy experimental pop.
