Tastenclub presents: Lambert.
Lambert the mask. In horned anonymity he (or she?) sits at the piano, a little bit Daft Punk, a little bit Eyes Wide Shot playing minimal etudes of melodic memorability, intimate production, and humble charme. Claude Debussy, Chilly Gonzales and Yann Tiersen are unmistakable aesthetic coordinates of his sound, the originality of those miniature compositions is remarkable. Lamberts album –nameless like the person behind the mask– was released on the Berlin-based label Staatsakt, mixed and mastered by Nils Frahm. With a series of piano reworks Lambert drew attention even before his debut album: Bonaparte, Ja Panik, Boy and Me and My Drummer all were in for the Lambert treat. While more and less entertaining rumors abound around the pianists identity we concentrate on his work, looking forward to hearing those intimate compositions at the accordingly intimate Waldo Bar.
