Erfolg

2013

The last edition of Torstraßen Festival Johannes von Weizsäcker experienced as a cycling reporter for Berliner Zeitung. He joined postrock-celebrities at Grüner Salon, discovered DENA at CCCP, studied Touchy Mob’s facial hair and ended up with a hell of a muscle ache. The Ex-Federal-President’s grandnephew lives between Berlin and London as a journalist and stage hog of the pan-European group The Chap. In a third life a new goal has caught his eye: Success (German: Erfolg). Solo and in German he splits verbal hair in equally absurd and entertaining stories, read, sung or performed by others against an electro-acoustic backdrop. The words tackle phenomena of every day’s modern madness: Investment banker Mausmann becomes a celebrity by winning a cook-off tv-show, news about EU financial assistance are read with a Greek accent, and elsewhere a deep fryer is strangely important. Discourse, dada & dance floor? Sounds like success.
