One of the highlights of last year’s edition of Torstraßen Festival was the appearance of Norwegian artist Boska, spectacular also on account of the stunning live visuals created by Petra Hermanová. But Petra does not only know how to speak through images which she sets out to prove performing with her own music project Fiordmoss this year. Fiordmoss are based in Berlin, yet with their three Czech members they can be considered an import, one that is not such an insider’s tip in their home country anymore. As if The XX were touring the seven kingdoms of Westeros Fiordmoss are pairing sparse instrumentations with mystical images and a bewitching voice with dark fantasies. Post-dubstep for Middle-earth: The dispersed sonic elements produced by the three members converge into a whole, sounding both organic and ethereal, recently complemented by the very Jon-Eirik Boska on electronic drums. Air, water, earth and fire is what the quartet refers to on their website, a space worth visiting, it also directs further to Petra’s visual art and the activities of her art collective fathermother.
