The Golden Diskó Ship will finally anchor on Torstraße. Captain on the boat is multi-instrumentalist and video artist Theresa Stroetges, carrying guitar, loop pedals and drum machines as her cargo. With rather experimental sound collages, folky patterns of both electronic and acoustic elements, Theresa has made a name for herself in recent years. She sails through choppy seas, drifts from one mysterious island to the next, goes ashore, collects little treasures only to soon throw them overboard and look for new adventures. In the tradition of sound explorers like Animal Collective she’s 100% weather-proof. Clouds gather, storms approach until the sun’s back again. And admits the changing weathers her compass always points towards pop-song. Following up on her debut album, recorded at the legendary Faust-studios, Theresa set sail for a new journey and perfected both sound and songwriting on 2014’s Invisible Bonfire. The press only had good things to say and her record release concert in Berlin was so crowded that the author of these lines couldn’t even get in. Note to self: Be early.
