Even if we normally consider ourselves a discovery channel, newly-Berliner Isis Salam is no inconnu. As a discovery of Hip Hop godfather Kool Herc already her first self-released EP opened the doors to a performance at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, NYC. With her former project Thunderheist, the Toronto-bred singer was nominated for the canadian Juno Award, side by side with MSTRKRFT she has performed on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and Junkie XL’s Off The Dancefloor is only one of many collaborations. But solo at last her next record shall answer to her own name. Isis rhymes play in the league of Neneh Cherry, M.I.A. or Grace Jones, while she looks up to the queens of pop music such as Debbie Harry, Betty Davis or Grace Joneas. Electro, disco, boogie, house and rap. Music for a hot dance floor with the option to move things into the bedroom.
