A sketchy night, desire and temptation, illusions and disillusions, goosebumps. The video for Light Games illustrates what Kool Thing is all about. Their songs are sparkling crystals, appealing and forbidding at the same time, and full of dark energy. Julie Chance from Dublin and Jon Dark from Sydney met in a bar in Paris, exchanged their favorite records and eventually moved to Berlin where they made remixes for Austra and Light Asylum and later recorded their first EP. Soon one of Sonic Youth’s biggest hits could be only the second association with “kool thing”.
