Shameless/Limitless presents: Pascale Project.

Pascale Project is the very recent reincarnation of Pascale Mercier’s solo-project formerly called Mathematique. Mercier is based in Montréal and what suddenly made her a project we cannot explain. Neither can the artist, who is instead revelling in uncertainty: «Who knows what is going to happen? Who cares?», she asks the internet and answers: «Don’t worry, everything is going to be fine, everyone is going to have fun.» And we are certainly having fun with Mercier’s music. The Canadian’s songs are as charming as they are catchy: «Summer But I Don’t Know», released last year under her old moniker, despite its adolescent hesitance, is a substantial summer hit and the video, created by artist Jason Harvey, furnished with house plants and MacBooks, is one of the great moments of internet pop. We’re happy to leave the term nostalgia out of this description: Pascale Project sounds like the here and now, and we are looking forward to her new songs. Oh wait, here is one already!
