Exberliner presents: Thieves Like Us.
Stealthily building toward its return, we’ll see if the soundtrack-flecked, ethereal electropop of Thieves Like Us finds itself its name ever-more applicable to itself, now that 2/3 of the trio have wandered off toward other thick plots, leaving Andy Grier to loot the entire bank. After Thieves Like Us’ «Drugs in my Body» 12” spread across the universe, making them one of the few Berlin bands of the 2000’s to really have an impact outside of Germany, the then-trio soon moved on to the full continental life, splitting their time between its home city and Paris, the home of its labels Seayou and Kitsuné. But the center did not hold and there were long, frustrating gaps occasionally filled with inspirational singles. Now, a few years after their «Bleed Bleed Bleed» on the über-hip Captured Tracks label, Thieves Like Us is back with a new line-up and a Neukölln attitude for Mitte’s Torstraßen Festival.
