Touchy

2016

The daredevil allstar band that performed together with Ludwig Plath at Torstraßen Festival 2012 has gone its three separate ways in the glistening trident form of Sean Nicholas Savage, Better Person, and Jack Chosef. … Four years later, as we look back on how the land lies, the recent Leipzig transplant Touchy is still one of this country’s most compelling musicians. He’s at once an old friend and a mystery, as any good partner should be: he surfaces, he re-submerges, and he does his own thing. Plath is always a couple of steps ahead—too cool for the songwriter’s stage, too warm-hearted for the club. And finally, Touchy has come to it to release the songs that he’s played for years at his gigs and that we’ve desperately wanted to take home with us. The time has come. “Let My Wild Boys Shine in the Boomers” is the name of the collection of tracks that Plath has put out on his own label and under his own direction—it’s no small masterpiece, and yet it’s somehow once again escaped the radar of hype. This lyrical spectacle is half house, half madcap introversion a la The Microphones. Hear, feel, and bask in the glory. Touchy was last seen live with cigarette, hovering over midi controller. More is less. We’re pumped for this reincarnation!
