Collaborations, collaborations! Theresa Stroetges (also part of this year’s program with Golden Diskó Ship), Jana Sotzko (on the line-up in 2013 with Dropout Patrol) and Sam Slater make Soft Grid. And what was it again with the sum and the parts? Stroetges’ post-structuralist soundworks meet Sotzko’s melancholic post-rock – what on paper looks like a compromise really is a best-of-both-worlds type of distillation of experimental sounds and songwriting, of composure and explosion. The duo recorded their first EP Stingrays in a children’s hospital in Potsdam, then in 2015 Sam Slater joined as a drummer. After their live premiere in May we’re looking forward to the band’s second concert! Only at Torstraßen Festival.
