Wir sind auf der Suche nach freiwilligen HelferInnen für den 13 Juni!
Für den ersten Tag des Festivals, Samstag, den 13ten Juni, brauchen wir wieder HelferInnen, die uns tatkräftig an der Kasse oder am Einlass unterstützen! Dabei sein heißt bei uns, Berliner Festival-Luft zu schnuppern und einen Blick in die Organisation und Durchführung des 5ten Torstraßenfestivals werfen. Neben der Arbeit an der Kasse oder am Einlass für den halben Tag, habt Ihr natürlich auch die Möglichkeit eure Lieblingskonzerte mitzuerleben.

We are looking for volunteers for the 13th of June!
For the first day of Torstraßen Festival, Saturday the 13th of June, we are looking for enthusiastic helpers willing to support us at the doors and our info point! Helping out our team allows you to peek into the organization of our festival and contribute to it. You’ll for for half of the day and the rest of the day you will be able to attend your favorite concerts.

In Kooperation mit Shameless/Limitless starten wir eine kleine Serie von Warm-Up Veranstaltungen. Den Anfang macht Komponist, Songwriter, Produzent und Multinstrustrumentalist Shub Roy aka Night Musik, bekannt aus Kollaborationen mit Dirty Beaches, jetzt mit beeindruckendem neuem Material auf Mind Records. Dazu und auch toll: Deaths aus Berlin.
In cooperation with Shameless/Limitless we’re starting a little series of warm-up event. First one up is composer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Shub Roy aka Night Musik, known from his collaborations with Dirty Beaches, now appearing with impressive new material on Mind Records. Kevin Halpin is a 30-something Canadian expatriate living in Berlin where he promotes musicians and concerts through his Shameless/Limitless shows. Slowly but surely, over years, he has managed to define an uncompromising aesthetic that is simultaneously international and localized. Fiercely independent and unapologetically idiosyncratic in both practice and taste, the roster of artists that he represents varies wildly in style from cold-wave electro-pop crooners to ethereal singer-songwriters including any and every permutation of recherché meta-fusions. Ultimately, he has managed to forge a vital signature that underlines a new wave of 21st century declinations about the potential of pop music, that most important of existential palliatives.

Unseren fünften Geburtstag feiern wir mit Young Fathers und Molly Nilsson im Großen Haus der Volksbühne. Um 19 Uhr gehen dort die Türen auf, genug Zeit zum Ausschlafen also.

More than 30 artists will perform in ten locations. This time until midnight! For example… Germany’s best chansonnier Jens Friebe, Brooklyn Indie-Duo Buke and Gase, legendary Iris Ackamoor & The Pyramids from Ohio, Pollyester, Warm Graves, Biblo, Oliver Heim, Human Abfall, Golden Diskó Ship und Zelf. Wir feiern die fünfte Edition des Torstraßen Festivals. Und weil wir es kaum erwarten können, haben wir den Termin schon auf den 13. und 14. Juni gelegt. Zwei Tage Torstraßen Festival! Am Samstag läuft alles mehr oder weniger wie in den letzten Jahren und für Sonntag denken wir uns gerade etwas Besonderes aus. Bitte schon mal den Termin blau-gelb im Kalender eintragen, alles weitere gibt es in Kürze hier!
We celebrate the 5th anniversary of Torstraßen Festival. And because we can’t wait too long we have moved things forward to the 13th and 14th of June. 2 days of Torstraßen Festival… On Saturday everything will run much like in the last years but for Sunday we’re planning something very special – Please mark your calendars and hang on for further updates!

Materials in flux / Hall of Mirrors
Im ACUD Projektraum werden während des Torstraßenfestivals zwei 45 Minuten lange Programme audiovisueller Arbeiten, Filme und Musikvideos von Jutojo und Sophie Clements im Loop gezeigt. Von 15 bis 23 Uhr. In der Veteranenstraße 21.
Two 45 minute programmes of audio-visual work, films and music-videos by Jutojo and Sophie Clements will be running as loop during Torstraßen Festival at ACUD Projektraum. From 3 till 11pm. On Veteranenstraße 21.
Ist das Torstraßenfestival ein Straßenfest?
– Nein. Die Konzerte finden in den Festival-Locations statt. Die Straße wird nicht gesperrt. Allerdings lassen sich viele Läden und Restaurants zum Festivaltag etwas Besonderes einfallen. Das nennen wir Partycipate.
Wo bekomme ich ein Ticket?
– Noch gibt es Tickets online, bei Koka36 und im St. Oberholz. Am Festivaltag gibt es Festivalbändchen an allen Locations und am Infopunkt vor dem Grünen Salon. Das Ticket ist für alle offiziellen Locations von 14 bis 22 gültig.
Wie funktioniert das mit den Online-Tickets?
– Online Tickets müssen ausgedruckt und am Info-Point (vor dem Grünen Salon) in ein Armband eingetauscht werden!
Wer spielt eigentlich wo? Und wann?
– Auf dem Soundposter sind alle Locations, Zeiten und Künstler verzeichnet. Eine Programmliste gibt es auch. Die Spielorte bieten begrenzt Platz, bitte kommt früh zu den Konzerten, die Euch wichtig sind.
14 Uhr? Da schlaf ich ja noch!
– Um 14 Uhr geht das Festival los und unser Programm folgt nicht der üblichen Hierarchie nach Popularität. Skiing, Susie Asado & Pablo Dacal und Blackest Ever Black werden das Festival eröffnen. Früh kommen lohnt sich also.
Und was passiert nach 22Uhr?
– Wir schmeißen eine Aftershow-Party im Acud Club! Die Party kostet 3 Euro mit und 6 Euro ohne Festivalbändchen. Und auch in den anderen Festival-Locations läßt es sich nach den Konzerten hervorragend weiterfeiern!
Können wir mit unserer Bar, unserem Restaurant, unserer Gallerie, unserem Laden mitmachen?
– Ja, wenn Ihr anläßlich des Festivals etwas auf die Beine stellt, lasst es uns wissen. Wichtig: Durch das Festival entsteht keine generelle Genehmigung für Aktionen auf der Straße, diese müssen ggf. individuell bei der Stadt eingeholt werden.
Soll ich ein Fahrrad mitbringen?
– Ja, gute Idee! Mit dem Fahrrad kommt man schnell von einem Konzert zum nächsten.
Kann ich mit den Öffentlichen kommen?
– Klar. Mit der U2 zum Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz oder der U8 zum Rosenthaler Platz zum Beispiel. Oder mit der Tram.
Und mit dem Auto?
– Lieber nicht mit dem Auto kommen. Parken ist in Mitte schwierig.
Is Torstraßen Festival a street fair?
– Nope. The concerts take place inside the festival locations. The street will not be blocked. Nevertheless many shops and restaurants in Torstraße are planning something special along with the festival. We call that partycipate.
Where do I get a ticket?
– Now you can buy tickets online, via Koka36 and at St. Oberholz. On the day of the festival wristbands are available at all locations including the information desk at Grüner Salon. The ticket is valid for all official locations from 2 until 10pm.
How about those online tickets?
– Online tickets need to be printed out and swapped for wristbands at the information desk (at Grüner Salon).
Who plays where? And when?
– You can find all official locations, artists and times on our sound poster. There is also a list. Please note: Limited space at all venues, be early for the shows that matter to you!
2pm? really?
– The festival starts at 2pm, and the program does not follow the usual popularity hierarchy. Skiing, Susie Asado & Pablo Dacal and Blackest Ever Black will open the festival. Better be early!
What is happening after 10pm?
– We are throwing an after show party at Acud Club! It costs 3 euros with and 6 euros without a festival wristband. Also the other festival locations are perfect places to party on after the concerts.
Can we take part in Torstraßen Festival with our bar / restaurant / gallery / shop?
– Yes! If you make something special happen for Torstraßen Festival please let us know. Important: The festival does not grant official permissions to use the street for example. Those permissions must be obtained individually from the city authorities. More info here.
Shall I bring a bike?
– Yes, good idea! A bike is great to quickly get from one concert to the next.
Can I also come by public transport?
– Of course. Take the U2 to Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, the U8 to Rosenthaler Platz or the tram.
By car?
– Rather leave your car at home, parking is difficult in Mitte.
